West Ascension Hospital Responds to Recent Statements Regarding Former CEO Payment
DONALDSONVILLE, LA, August 24, 2026. West Ascension Hospital, located at 301 Memorial Drive in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, is committed to transparency and accountability regarding questions surrounding a payment made to former CEO Vincent Cataldo.
During an interview with WBRZ that aired Thursday, August 20, 2026, Mr. Cataldo stated that he received a direct deposit in January of 2024, which he indicated was for accrued vacation time.
Current West Ascension Hospital CEO Shelton Anthony was not employed by the hospital at the time the payment was approved or issued. Mr. Anthony began his tenure with West Ascension Hospital in February 2024.
Hospital leadership is currently working to gather and review the records and documentation associated with the payment, including the circumstances surrounding its authorization.
